Questions

Everything you need to know

Is virtual therapy really effective for teens?

Yes. Research shows virtual IOP is equally effective as in-person for teens. Many teens open up more from the comfort of their own space. Our 87% completion rate (vs. 50% industry average) reflects this.

What if my teen refuses to participate?

Resistance is normal. Our therapists are trained to work with reluctant teens. The interactive format helps break the ice, and peer connection often becomes the reason teens want to show up.

What's the time commitment?

8 weeks. 3 hours per day, 3 days per week (9 hrs/week). Sessions are after school (4-7 PM) so your teen stays in school. Includes weekly individual therapy and optional parent groups.

How much does it cost?

Most families pay $0 out of pocket. We accept BlueCross, Aetna, Cigna, United, Anthem, Florida Medicaid, and more. We verify your insurance before you start—no surprises.

Is Kin right for my teen's situation?

Kin treats teens 14-18 with anxiety, depression, self-harm behaviors, and school refusal. IOP is appropriate when weekly therapy isn't enough but residential isn't necessary. We assess fit during intake—if we're not right, we'll tell you honestly and help you find alternatives.

How are parents involved?

Weekly progress updates with talking points to continue therapeutic work at home. Optional parent coaching and peer support groups—because this is hard for the whole family.
