What is a Family Therapy–Centered Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

A structured program that combines family therapy, teen group sessions, and individual care—more support than weekly therapy while teens live at home and stay in school.

Especially helpful when your family is:

  • Stuck in conflict or communication breakdowns
  • Unsure how to support a teen with anxiety, depression, or school avoidance
  • Transitioning home after hospitalization or residential treatment
  • Needing coordinated support without pausing school

How Our Family IOP Compares:

vs. Weekly Therapy

Weekly therapy: 1 hour per week; parents rarely included
Our IOP: Multiple sessions weekly + required family therapy

vs. Residential Treatment

!
Residential: 24/7 care away from home
Our IOP: Intensive care at home with active caregiver involvement

Questions? We've got answers.

How long is the program?

Most families participate for 6–8 weeks, and every plan includes weekly family therapy and parent coaching. We personalize based on goals and progress.

What about school?

Teens remain in school. Sessions run after school, and we’ll coordinate around classes and routines so your family keeps a healthy rhythm.

Is virtual as effective as in-person?

Yes. Families often feel more comfortable engaging from home, and our matching process ensures your teen is with peers who ‘get it.’

Are parents/caregivers involved?

Absolutely. At least one caregiver attends weekly family sessions. You’ll receive coaching, progress updates, and practical tools to use between sessions.

Your family doesn’t have to navigate this alone

Kin is here to help with a family‑centered IOP. No waitlist. Start this week.
