Why Family-Centered Care

Healing happens in relationships

Teen mental health doesn't exist in isolation. Neither should treatment.

Whole Family Involved

Weekly family sessions alongside your teen's group therapy. Because lasting change requires everyone, not just your struggling teen.

Communication Repair

Learn to have difficult conversations without shutdowns, yelling, or walking away. Skills that extend far beyond the 8 weeks.

Parent Coaching

Not just support—active coaching on how to respond to crises, set boundaries, and maintain connection when things get hard.

Intensive Support

3 sessions per week for 8 weeks means real momentum. This isn't monthly check-ins—it's focused, concentrated healing.

Level of Care

More than weekly therapy, less than residential

Intensive outpatient fills the gap when once-a-week isn't enough.

Weekly Family Therapy

Support Level
Life Disruption

1 hour/week
Good for mild concerns

Common Questions

What families ask us

How involved do parents need to be?

We ask for 2-3 hours per week from parents: one weekly family session with your teen (1 hour), weekly parent coaching/support group (1 hour), and brief check-ins with your teen's treatment team. The more you put in, the more your whole family gets out—but we work with your schedule.

What if my teen won't do family sessions?

This is common—and expected. We don't force it. Your teen starts with peer group, where they build trust and learn skills. As they progress, we introduce family work gradually. Most teens who resist at first end up finding family sessions valuable once they feel ready.

Do both parents need to participate?

We strongly encourage both parents (or caregivers) to participate when possible—outcomes are better. But we know that's not always realistic. Single parents, divorced co-parents, grandparents raising teens—we work with your family structure, whatever it looks like.

What's the time commitment? I work full-time.

Your teen's group sessions are after school (typically 4-7 PM). Family sessions and parent groups are scheduled flexibly—evenings and some daytime slots available. Virtual format means no commute time. Most working parents find the 2-3 hours/week manageable, and we'll work with you.

What happens in the family sessions?

Led by a licensed therapist, family sessions focus on rebuilding communication: how to have hard conversations without shutdowns, how to repair trust after conflict, how to set boundaries that work. You'll practice real scenarios and leave with specific tools to use at home that week.

What if we've tried family therapy before and it didn't work?

Traditional weekly family therapy is different from intensive outpatient. Seeing each other once a week for an hour often isn't enough to create momentum. With 3x/week for 8 weeks, plus peer support for your teen and coaching for you, change happens faster and sticks better. The intensity matters.
